The Center of Participatory Change (CPC) is seeking a part-time co-coordinator for their Popular Education program from March 15 – December 31, 2018. The Center for Participatory Change is located in Ashevillle, NC. This position holds 13 hours per week at $20/hour. Applicants must be available from 9am-12pm on Tuesdays for a full staff meeting. CPC focuses on racial equity, language justice, and cultural organizing. CPC advocates using collective power to transform oppression and foster community healing. The Popular Education co-coordinators raise community awareness of popular education practices, train youth workers in popular education techniques and coordinate “Seeds of Hope,” a bi-lingual group of popular educators that partner with local and regional social justice organizations to offer childcare/youth programming that creates a meaningful opportunity for children and youth to engage in movement work. Applicants should have a passion for popular education, experience in multi-lingual and multi-cultural spaces, and comfort with community outreach, curriculum development and group facilitation.Please send a resume and cover letter to [email protected] by March 1, 2018.
